About Me

My Story

I am Louise, a senior midwife with over 25 years’ experience.

Offering bespoke support and advice throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early stages of parenthood. My services combine the best of NHS and private maternity care to ensure a seamless and supportive experience. Can this be on my frontpage as well please.
I have been a qualified midwife for over 23 years, and have always worked within the health care setting, since leaving school. I have always taken a keen interest in supporting and advocating for birthing people.

I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to facilitate the support and journey that is built around your own personal needs.
I have worked in a variety of midwifery senior roles, with full exposure working within low-risk birth settings, to manging a busy tertiary unit. I was a supervisor of midwives, and I am now a Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) these two roles have enabled me to support many women with ‘outside of guidance’ requests.

I am trained in counselling skills, and have set up birth listening services, managed complex caseloads, set up maternity services, worked in the community, and have worked closely with Governance team and wider the Obstetric team.

In the past few years I have become a clinical expert witness for legal and negligence cases, this experience has really helped me see the importance of good communication and good debriefing sessions.
My compassionate nature and welcoming demeanour have led me to support women and families outside of the NHS, I am still as passionate about midwifery since the day I qualified and want Birthing people to feel heard and empowered.

Having a baby is a privilege, having the knowledge and understanding of the birth process is your right. Unpacking, understanding, rebuilding can help in so many ways.

Many people feel like they’ve failed if their birth doesn’t go as planned. They might blame themselves or their care provider, but it’s about managing expectations and understanding that perfection isn’t always achievable.

Individualising and personalising your birth plan are forms of staying in control, surrounding pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period. There are a variety of individualised ways that is right for you.
Antenatal anxiety is on the increase – having tools to help you get through a pregnancy and then a birth that you can enjoy is a necessity.
